It was close to 2 years back when we started screening games with a paltry attendance of 5 people and there would be days where we used to sit on the registration counter with our beers waiting for our friends and other “registered” people to turn up for the event and well they never did.
Timeline : 21st to 27th August
Just to give you a background of how we planned yesterday’s event: Well, the place was fixed after considering all possible details like proximity to station, accessibility of nearby roads and of course the infra and facilities of venue. The major challenge for us was to find a consensus of all core and working committee members of MUFC NM to zero down a particular place and thankfully we did 3 weeks back and that set the ball rolling.
None of us are full time employees of this organization, we all have a day job and most of us slog for close to 14-15 hours a day, some are students and have their regular assignments, practicals and if the time is left then you have social media to distract you but all of us made sure that everyday some amount of time was definitely put on screening this event so that you supporters and fans can have a blast and of course hope Mourinho would win.
How the place was decided : well committee members of MUFC NM did what they know the best.
After a long day at work some of them met at Vashi, got hold of a beer (Beer is bae) and then finalized it since we had a set of quotes and pricing details.
Timeline : 28th August to 3rd September
We knew that the Mancheter Derby would be the perfect match to start because the fixture was more important than the rivalry. This was box office, it was theater and it was Jose Mourinho vs Pep Guardiola (alias taklu). The registration procedures started, we had to plan the intake of people we would allow and trust me when I say this we decided to screen for first 100 people but as our CEO alias Sanedo Chief says
“Kuch kar raha hai toh bc bada hi event karte”.
-As he gulps down another of his daily water (A pint of Peroni) intake
Targets Changed : The number we were chasing was 125 +
Some might imagine hardly a difference between 100 and 125 well, we started with 5 then moved to 45, 80 and joint screenings took us to maximum 170 so this was a challenge and the members decided to take it up on themselves
The Derby Day
After a brilliant response from you folks we finally closed down at over 225 + registrations and out of which 166 + people turned up which is more than what we anticipated. Some of us donned different roles that day, handling the crowd, chanting our players name and of course mocking that odd city fan who well had the bragging rights in the end. If you ask us personally what was best part of the screening then we would say you guys came and turned up for the event even though our team did not in the first half. The chants were loud and the goal from Zlatan was perfect icing on the cake.
After the Manchester Derby when all our core and working committee members of MUFC NM sat down analyzing what went right and what went wrong we were more than happy about how well the event turned out to be and the major credit for this goes to the supporters and the neutral fans who attended the screening. You guys rocked and made sure the event was a grand success.
We are coming back again for the game against Leicester City where we welcome the champions at the theater of dreams and MUFC NM will welcome you guys yet again for the game which starts at 5 and we will reveal the details to you as soon as our arrangements are done.
With this we sign off for this event and hope to see you all next time again. Last but not the least MUFC NM would like to welcome Nihad Thakur in the organizing and Core committee
Stay blessed lad (Xoxoxo)
